Hi friends
TGIF!!!!! I’m back home. So thankful that I’m discharged today and can spend the weekend with my family. PTL!!! So please don’t go to SGH to look for me.
I’m doing well. Surgery went well. I will see the doctor next week for the test results and treatment. I’m thankful for the peace and the support from family members and friends. I’m indeed blessed – to be covered in prayers. Please pray for wisdom to know which doctors to go to.
Just wanted to share some encouraging learning points from my own devotion with the Lord.
From Beth Moore’s ‘Beloved Disciple’, I’m reminded that Jesus is my ‘THE’ no matter what happens. He is everything I need.
Christ is
*THE Bread of Life – John 6:35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.
*THE Light of the world – John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
*THE Door of the sheep – John 10:7-9 Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
*THE Good Shepherd – John 10:11-14 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.
*THE Resurrection and THE Life – John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.
*THE Way, THE Truth, THE Life – John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
*THE True vine – John 15:1,5 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. …..I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
A quote from her book
‘We will never have a challenge He can’t empower us not to meet. We will never have a need He can’t fill. We will never have an earthly desire He can’t exceed. When we allow Christ to be all He is to us, we find wholeness. One piece at a time, Beloved. Every time you discover the reality of Christ fulfilling another realm of your needs and longings, His name is written on a different part of you, and you are much closer to wholeness.’
I was further encouraged by the Psalms before my surgery
Psalm 124:1, 2, 8
“If it had not been the LORD who was on our side,”……“If it had not been the LORD who was on our side,……Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.
Psalm 125:1, 2, 4
1 Those who trust in the LORD
Are like Mount Zion,
Which cannot be moved, but abides forever.
2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
So the LORD surrounds His people
From this time forth and forever.
4 Do good, O LORD, to those who are good,
And to those who are upright in their hearts.
This morning, the Lord reminded me of Psalm 127, especially verse 1
Unless the LORD builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the LORD guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain.
I am well and I am fine. Yes I will continue to speak life, in line with the Word and put ALL things in His hands. I have also been reminded not to be deceived by the evil one. And thank you, those of you who have come forward to let us have your car seats – YES!!! God has promised that when I ask, I will be given. A friend has already given hers to us. Appreciate your giving hearts. May the Lord honour you.
Have a good weekend. Cherish your time with you loved ones 🙂
