Running The Race

There is a big race coming up and there are two racers taking part-Pete and Jeremy! On the day of the race, one of them cruises to victory while the other bites the dust. Watch the video and find out who won the race.

This video is synonymous with our Christian lives. We are told by Paul that we must run the race of life. In 1 Corinthians 9:24 (NIV), Paul writes, “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.” This doesn’t mean that we are competing against other Christians. It means that the Christian life is fraught with troubles and trials as Jesus has told us in John 16:33, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”. This is similar to running in a race that has numerous obstacles. However, we should not be fazed by these challenges. Instead, we must persevere as if we were running a physical race and aiming for the gold medal. As Christians, we aim not for a physical medal but for the eternal crown–everlasting life .
