We just read John 19. Li-Ann had some questions…

LA: What do you mean by ‘blood coming out from the side’?
Mom: It’s like blood coming out when your finger is poked.
LA: That means they are poking at his ribs?
Mom: That’s right.
LA: Ouch! That’s painful! That’s not a good thing to be crucified on the cross.
Mom: Yes. Why did Jesus do that? Who did He do it for?
LA: For us.
Mom: Yes, He did it for us.

LA: Why did Jesus say ‘Dear Woman’? He should say ‘Mommy’.
Mom: That’s a really good question. I don’t know really know the answer. Why don’t we copy the verses and ask Pastor tomorrow?
Li-Ann took some time to copy the verses but she persevered because she wanted to know the answer!
LA was nervous but we finally did go and ask the pastor together. The pastor was very kind to explain simply to her and I reinforced what he said after that. I learned something new too!
Hi Apple, love following your blog but can you share what pastor said with us? Tks!!
Please tell Li-Ann she is such an adorable and inquisitive child. I love her simple questions. Makes us think too!!
Thank you Jennifer! Pastor said that although Jesus is the son of Mary, He is also the son of God. He was addressing Mary as the son of God, hence the term of address.
Do share what you both learned from your pastor! I am curious! 🙂
