Today Is My Birthday!

May the Lord bless you, my dear one, on your SPECIAL 12TH BIRTHDAY!!!

We were very thankful as we celebrated this important milestone during the last weekend. Li-Ann was unwell but she persevered and had lots of fun!

GO! GO! GO! LI-ANN!!

“But I don’t feel like I am 12!” (To which I have no answer)

The day before her birthday…

Mom: You are 12, Li-Ann!

LA: I am still 11. I will be 12 tomorrow.

Mom: (Wah…clever answer! Trying not to be speechless…) You are right!

On her birthday…

Mom: What do you want to be when you grow up?

LA: A doctor or a nurse.

Mom: Why?

LA: So I can study and take care of the children.

Mom: Can you take care of children even if you are not a doctor or a nurse?

LA: No.

Mom: I am not a doctor or a nurse and I am taking care of 3 children. What am I?

LA: A human of course!

Mom: (THAT IS CORRECT!! Trying not to be totally stumped…) You are right, LA!

Her favourite restaurant…

la-napkin

I like Mariner’s Corner because of the salad bar. I like to eat cucumber and broccoli with thousand island dressing. I like to go to Mariner’s Corner because外婆 (maternal grandma) celebrated my birthday with me before.

Her birthday wish…

My birthday wish is to make presents for my friends.

Her birthday present…img_6188

“This picture symbolizes that you (represented by the flower) are as beautiful as music. You are sometimes as complex and confusing as the insides of the grand piano, but it is ok because the music is lovely.” ~ Rebecca Teoh

A craft she wanted to do…

She wanted to cut up some ang pows or red red packets to make a collage. I thought she did great at cutting!! She was very meticulous when she was cutting the outline of the pictures she wanted. A huge improvement of her fine motor skills.

la-papercut“Whom have I in heaven but you?

And earth has nothing I desire besides you.

My flesh and my heart may fail,

but God is the strength of my heart

and my portion forever.” ~ Psalm 73:25-26
